Replacing the Eyes

I always recommend changing your doll's eyes if you want a realistic reborn. I also recommend that if you are wanting your doll to look like a newborn, use a dark grey or dark blue color. With this baby, I used dark violet 18mm eyes.

Inside the head, there is vinyl covering the back of the eyes. You will need to cut about 3/4 of it to pop the eyes out. Use an exacto knife to do this. The diagram below shows the eye sockets inside the head. The areas in red are where you need to cut. Cut the sides of the eye-sockets and don't cut them completely off because you will need to use them to cover up your new eyes.

.

After you've cut the sockets, push the eyeballs into the head to pop them out.

Now pull back the vinyl that you cut on the socket with one finger and push your new eye in. This can be a little tricky.

Once you have your eyes in, arrange the eyes so that they are looking in the direction that you want. Then close the sockets and seal them shut with some clear silicone caulking and a q-tip.
